Vikings News · VASJ BOYS BASKETBALL – Short-handed Vikings fall to CCC

A short-handed VASJ squad ran into a red-hot Cleveland Central Catholic team on Feb. 21 and fell to the Ironmen, 89-67.

Jaden Hameed led four Vikings in double figures with 19 points.

Noah Clarke scored 14 points, Samson Foster added 11 and Sean Johnson chipped in 10 on Senior Night.

BK Kwasniak had 8 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists for VASJ.

“We are in survival mode …. The kids that were out there played hard. (CCC) is the antithesis of us in that they have 11 seniors and we have 1. Their strength was just much on the interior,” VASJ coach Babe Kwasniak said.

“I thought Samson Foster was a bright spot — if we can get that production out of him that will help!

“Tonight was all about our seniors – Markelle Glapsie and Sean Johnson. It was a great night to honor them, I’m privileged to have coached them for 4 years and I’ve known Sean since he was in 3rd grade.”

VASJ (8-13) has a quick turnaround, hosting St. Edward on Feb. 22.
