VASJ held a halftime lead before falling to host St. Ignatius, 70-55, on Feb. 1.
The Vikings led, 32-27, at the half, but were unable to hold off the Wildcats in the second half, despite 27 points from Jaden Hameed.
VASJ fell to 6-10 on the season.
“This is the first time in 10 years that we’ve lost 10 games, but I have to tell you I’m proud to be a Viking. I thought our kids players their hearts out – it was our best effort all season. We were out-sized and out-manned, but we kept fighting,” VASJ coach Babe Kwasniak said.
“Jaden Hameed was spectacular, and our only senior, Sean Johnson (16 points), had his best weekend as a Viking.
“Overall I just feel very blessed to be coaching these kids, working with the other coaches and to work for (athletic director) Coach (Elvis) Grbac.”
Jonah Waag chipped in 8 points for the Vikings.
