VASJ rebounded from a season-opening loss to Euclid with a dominating win over John Adams, 93-50, at the Great Lakes Classic at Cleveland Heights on Nov. 30.
Jaden Hameed scored 32 points following up a 37-point game vs. Euclid to lead the Vikings.
“This is exactly what the doctor ordered after we laid an egg last night. We were much better defensively and we got out in transition,” VASJ coach Babe Kwaniak said.
“I’d have to look up the last time we’ve had someone go for two 30 balls back-to-back I’m not sure I’ve ever had someone do it. Jaden has been really good.”
Contributions came from am array of young players on the roster.
Sophomore BK Kwasniak had 7 assists, 10 rebounds and 3 steals for VASJ. Freshman Anthony Ivey was big in the victory as well.
“The freshman Anthony Ivey had 9 points and 10 rebounds in his first varsity minutes. If we can start getting production out of him that would be enormous,” Kwasniak said.
Jonah Waag had 12 points and senior Seam Johnson added 11 for VASJ.
