Vikings News · VASJ GOLF – Vikings continue to build on strong regular season

The VASJ golf team improved to 7-3 on the year with wins against Cleveland Heights and Cornerstone Christian.

Senior Johnathan Cook, junior Paul Wise, and sophomore Patrick Dunmire shared medal honors with each shooting 44 against Heights.

Dunmire improved on his season best the following match by firing a career-best 41 against Cornerstone. He had two birdies and had a chance on the 18th hole to break 40, but the difficult Briardale greens and pin placement got the best of him. BK Kwasniak medaled with a 38. Paul Wise carded a 42 and Johnathan Cook shot 44 to help VASJ finish with a 165. That’s the lowest team score this year and lowest in Coach Rick Grycan’s three-year tenure.

A final tri-match vs. Benedictine and Lake Catholic at Blackbrook will wrap up the regular season. The Vikings hope to keep their momentum going into NCL championship and sectionals.
