In a regular-season matchup, VASJ took Lake Catholic to 5 sets before falling to the Cougars.
“We are playing well, and we need to be good, but I like where we are,” Royer said. “This is a great challenge, we know how good Lake is, but we also know what we are capable of, to come out and play hard and play with enthusiasm.
“This is playoff volleyball. I know what we need to do and get it done and the kids get it too. It is the little things.”
Bobbi Rempe, Christian Wilson, Reilly Seagroves and Emily Gail all played well vs. Jefferson.
“We had a great team win, now can we keep it going,” Royer said. “I like where we are, but can we continue? I like this group and how hard we are playing. You have to remember we were right there with Lake last time, so we have to clean up some things and see what happens. It is a grind to get through, the next match could be against NDCL It is a tough district.”
