Vikings News · VASJ TRACK – Vikings tune up for postseason hosting girls All-Catholic Meet

The VASJ girls track team tuned up for the upcoming district meet by hosting the All-Catholic Meet on May 12.

The top finish for the Vikings was a second place in the 4×400 relay. The team of Maritza Strong, Ashanti Turner, Julie LeQuay and Jayla Currie finished with a time of 4:12.02 – just behind the winning team from Beaumont.

Currie finished third in the 200 and Mikeya Cook-Howard finished fifth in the same event.

Turner finished third in the 400 and LeQuay finished third in the 800.

The 4×100 relay team finished third with two young runners gaining valuable experience in Daysha Burton and Clarke Moore. Voni Jones and Currie rounded out the relay for the Vikings.
