The Boys Varsity Baseball team started the week off in a positive way with two North Coast White Division victories on Monday and Tuesday.
In a game that was suspended due to weather, the Varsity Boys Baseball team sent the Knights of Saint Thomas Aquinas home with a 6-4 defeat at the hands of the Vikings. The Vikings were ahead when rain halted the action on April 27. The Knights tied up the game at four with a run in the top of the sixth inning. The Vikings then countered with two runs in the bottom of the sixth to put them ahead for good.
On Tuesday, the Vikings made the trek to Warren JFK to tangle with the Eagles. The Vikings went back and forth with the Eagles, eventually tallying four runs in the top of the sixth inning to come back from a 5-4 deficit to take an 8-5 victory home to the village. The Viking pitching blanked the Eagles over the last four innings with Andrew Oriani getting the win on the bump for the Vikings.
The playoffs begin for the Vikings today as they travel to Black River to face the Pirates for a chance to face the top seed in the district, Elyria Catholic, on Thursday.
