The Vikings Boys Baseball were able to right the ship on Thursday night with an explosive 14-4 victory at home over Berkshire. The bats were out in full force. Leadoff man Jacob Smith helped to pace the eleven-hit attack with four hits of his own, driving in four runs. Smith came up in his final at bat a home-run shy of the cycle.
The Vikings distanced themselves from the Badgers sending 15 men to the plate in a nine-run third inning. AJ Fabo picked up the victory on the hill for the Vikings, giving up only two runs in the first and blanking the Badgers in his other three innings of work. Patrick Creegan finished off the victory, pitching a scoreless fifth inning.
VASJ will travel to Independence on Friday for a game at 4:30 and Saturday at 10:00 a.m. before getting back into North Coast League action Monday and Tuesday versus Saint Thomas Aquinas.
