VASJ senior Patrick Sheridan lost in the Division 3 consolation bracket on March 9, ending his run as one of the best wrestlers to ever put on the Columbia blue and red.

“It was an honor to coach Pat and I hope I have 50 like him moving forward. I’m not disappointed, I just am sad I don’t get to coach him anymore. He’s a special kid and a great talent,” VASJ coach Bob Mullin said.

“The heavyweight division is tough and Patrick was good enough to beat everyone, it’s just the way things happened and the draw went.”

Sheridan went 1-1 on the first day of the state tournament, but lost in his first consolation match on March 9.
