Cleveland Central Catholic won the NCL White Division championship with a 46-0 win over visiting VASJ on Oct. 28.
The Vikings finished the season at 4-6 and 3-1 in the NCL White.
The Ironmen got a pair of touchdowns from Marvin Minger in the first quarter to jump out to a 14-0 lead. CCC added two more touchdowns in the second quarter and went on to its fifth straight win of the season.
“To be honest, I think our guys were a little deflated after finding out we were mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, but that is not an excuse and that is on me as a head coach to get them back up for a big game like this,” VASJ coach Bill Sowers said.
“I’d like to thank our seniors for all they have done. It isn’t easy with a new coach and a new staff and they were great this year helping us trying to bring energy to the program. We have great young men here and we know what we need to do to make sure this type of ending to the season doesn’t happen again. Hopefully, next year we can do that.”
The Ironmen (6-4, 4-0 NCL White) did not qualify for the postseason in Division III, Region 10.
