The McDonough Invitational, one of the longest running and most revered meets in Northeast Ohio, returns to Forest Hills Park on Saturday, Sept. 16.
The start time is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.
Last year, the McDonough Invitational at Forest Hills Park was another very successful event run by Villa Angela-St. Joseph.
Walsh Jesuit took the Red Division titles for bigger schools in both the boys and girls races. University School took home the team title in the boys Blue Division race and Hathaway Brown took the girls crown in the Blue.
Vikings cross country coach Scott McNulty said the team turnout was strong as usual, and the support of the parents who volunteered at the event was as good as it has been.
It was the end of an era as longtime race coordinator Bob Prince oversaw his final McDonough.
McNulty said he and an assistant coach as well as athletic director Nate Zavorek will be in charge of the McDonough Invitational this year.
