A celebratory pep rally for the VASJ boys basketball team – which won the Division III state championship on March 25 – will take place at Viking Village on Wednesday, March 29 at 3:30 p.m.
Coach Babe Kwasniak, the players and staff will be honored at the event which is open to fans and the media.
VASJ (23-6) held off Cincinnati Roger Bacon, 54-52, in a dramatic Division III state final. It was the fifth consecutive season the Vikings were in the state title game. It was the third state championship in the past five seasons for Kwasniak and company and the seventh overall in program history.
VASJ’s seven state championships are tied for the most in OHSAA history with Middletown and Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary.
