VASJ junior Pat Sheridan will have to wait until next year to get on the podium at the state wrestling tournament.
The 2017 season ended with a pair of losses for Sheridan in the Division III state tournament in Columbus after a district championship at Garfield Heights.
Sheridan was 30-3 with 30 pins heading into March 9 at the Schottenstein Center, but lost twice to end his stellar season at the state tournament.
The VASJ standout lost his first match to Tanner Kunz from Chillicothe Zane Trace and was defeated by Joe Moore of Milbury Lake in the consolation bracket.
Sheridan finished the season at 30-5.
